Jackson Woods Park Carbon Garden

This project transformed an underutilized urban space into a thriving carbon sink garden. Working with local volunteers, we planted over 200 native species specifically selected for their carbon sequestration abilities.

The garden now serves as both an environmental asset and a community gathering space, with educational signage explaining the carbon cycle and the role of plants in climate mitigation.

Holmdel Carbon Garden

The Holmdel Carbon Garden represents our science-based approach to maximizing carbon sequestration in suburban settings. Working with local environmental experts, we've designed a garden that balances aesthetic appeal with climate impact. The selected plant species not only excel at carbon absorption but also create a beautiful, low-maintenance landscape that will serve as a model for residential carbon gardens. Community volunteers are actively engaged in the planning and upcoming planting phases.

Hazlet Township Carbon Initiative

Our most ambitious project yet, the Hazlet Township Carbon Initiative will create a comprehensive carbon sink ecosystem combining trees and native plants. This initiative will showcase how municipalities can turn open spaces into powerful tools for climate action while enriching the community environment.

Keyport Community Garden Partnership

Carbon Roots is collaborating with the Elizabeth Street Community Garden to integrate carbon-sequestering elements into an already thriving community space. This project will demonstrate how carbon sink principles can enhance existing gardens, expanding their environmental benefits while involving and educating the local community.
